Previewing a Page

Caltech Sites offers multiple ways to view what your page's content will look like once it's published, including how it will look on phones and tablets, in addition to desktop browsers.
The Preview Sidebar

The main way to preview your page content is through the Preview Sidebar. It is accessed by clicking the icon in the upper right that looks like a smartphone (seen to the right, circled in red).
By default, the Preview Sidebar will display your page as it would appear on a smartphone, but you can change the preview appearance to a Tablet or a Desktop browser by selecting one of the icons along the top. To view the preview in its own separate tab in your browser, click the icon that looks like an arrow escaping from a box.
This display of your page will automatically update as you type in Rich Text fields, as you add new blocks, and as you edit those blocks' settings. If this gets distracting, you can hide the Preview Sidebar by clicking the button in its upper-left corner that looks like a right-pointing arrow.
If you'd like the Preview Sidebar to be wider, so your preview is easier to read, click the icon on the left edge of the sidebar that looks like six dots and drag it to the left. This will let you widen the Preview Sidebar by quite a lot, which is quite useful for desktop previewing.
