Managing News

Create a News Hub Page
Whether you want to import news from www.caltech.edu or write your own, you will need to start with a page on which to display your articles. Go to the Sitemap in the sidebar and click the Add Child Page button on a page somewhere on your site (usually the homepage). Then select News Hub from the list of page types.
In the edit form for the News Hub page, give it a title (usually "News") and add a Header and News Search Block to the "Header" section, then add (at least) a News Article List to the "Body" section. You can then Preview the page to see how it looks, make any tweaks you might want, and then Publish it.

You've now set up the most basic way to display news articles on your site.
Customize Your News Hub Page
The News Hub Page provides a News Search Block that can be customized to not only show specific options for tags, but also hide other fields you're not using. This can be useful if you do not like the tags provided by www.caltech.edu, or you would like to use some combination of your own tags and www.caltech.edu tags.

Create Your Own Tags
In addition to choosing which tags or categories from www.caltech.edu you want to show in the News Search Bar, you can add tags or categories of your own.
- In the admin sidebar, click News, and then Tags (or Categories) from the flyout menu.
- Add a new tag, e.g. Security
Once you have created tags or categories, you can use them to tag news stories you write on your site, or you can add them to stories from www.caltech.edu using the News Management Dashboard. They will also be available for use in the search box on your News Hub Page, or you can use the new tag to select specific stories in a News Teaser Block.
