People Blocks

Person Category with People
Person Category with People Block builds on the existing Person Categories that are used to tag People Pages. This block is useful for displaying information from a selected Person Category and a two column list of names based on the People Pages that have been associated. Hence, the names will link back to People Pages.
At minimum, the block will display just its title and the list of names:

If a Person Category has a description or an image, those can also be displayed with the block.

If the browser width is narrow, the image for Person Category will be placed above the description and list of people.

To set this up, you first need to setup your People Pages. Once you have people pages tagged with person categories, you can find Person Category with People Block in the Left Sidebar Layout (Main Content section). Simply find Person Category with People and select the desired person category. If you do not want to show the Person Category image or description, you can customize the look by unchecking Include image and Include description.

Note: A Person Page's privacy settings will be respected when displayed on your site.
Person Category Directory
Person Category Directory Block builds on the existing Person Categories that are used to tag People Pages. This block is useful for creating contact directories that can be made available on your site.
In its simplest form, it can be a directory table for people within a person category.

To set this up, first you need to set up your People Pages. Once you have people pages tagged with people categories, you can pull the contact information from those people pages into a Person Category Directory block.

The block itself has various settings you can choose from. To create a simple table:
- Give table a name in Block Title.
- Select at least one Parent Category. (Add more if you want to combine or limit the list that gets shown.)
- Choose a Category Filter option that matches what you want the results to look like with the parent categories you chose.
- Skip the Sub category column section.
- Fill in the desired display settings for Person column section.
- Preview or Save the page.
For something more sophisticated, you can create a faculty contact directory that includes contact information for their administrative assistants and grant managers. If you select a parent category in the subcategory section, the table will have a column displaying the person's subcategories. In the example below, we chose Departments and you can see its subcategories, like CMS, EE, and ESE, get listed when faculty people pages are associated.

To create a table similar to the one above:
- Give the table a name with Block Title.
- Select at least one Parent Category. (Add more if you want to combine or limit the list that gets shown.)
- Choose a Category Filter option that matches what you want the results to look like with the parent categories you chose.
- Fill out the Subcategory column section if you have a column that may list all its subcategories for matching people. I.e. Selecting Departments person category that has many people categories, such as, CMS, APhMS, MedE, etc.
- Skip Person column section to not display their contact information.
- In Administrative assistants columns, select Include admin assistants and pick the desired contact information to display.
- In Grant managers columns, select Include grant managers and pick the desired contact information to display.
- Preview or Save the page.
Please note that when selecting Include admin assistants and Include grant managers, their people page must have that contact information set under Administrative Assistants and Grant Managers, otherwise they will be blank.

VoilĂ !
Note: The block will respect the privacy settings for each Person Page, as well as the available settings provided in a person's contact information. Some rows or column data may be omitted as a result. You may also want to consider the intended audience for your page, and set privacy settings accordingly.
