Link Blocks

In addition to links in Rich Text fields, headers, and several of the image and image carousel blocks, there are a handful of standalone link blocks. This page gives you examples of each and tries to tell you where you can use each type. Not all link blocks are available in all contexts.
Sidebar Menu Block
As seen just to the left, the Sidebar Menu Block is a great way to help keep your visitors aware of what part of the site they're currently on, and which pages are most closely related to the current page.
To set one up, add a Sidebar Menu to the "Sidebar content" section of a Left Sidebar Layout block, or just about any other columnar layout.
By default, the block will render the highest level ancestor of the current Page and its descendants. You can pick any arbitrary page for the block's "Root page" (e.g. a closer ancestor of the current page), but it's usually best for a consistent visitor experience if you leave it at the default.
Quick Links
One of the main link styles is what we call "Quick Links". You may add one or more links to a "Quick Links" block. Each link will be blue text on a gray background with a circle + arrow icon before the text.
Quick links are available at the top level of the Home, Interior, and PersonSpotlightIndex pages, and in the main column of centered one column layout and left sidebar layout.

The exact layout of the links depends on where you place the set of links and how many links you have. Please be sure to use the Preview sidebar to see how things will look on computers, and, tablets, and phones. On phones, the quick links block collapses into a drop down menu, as seen to the right.
Action Buttons Block
Another attention grabbing link block is the "Action Buttons" block.
This block is available at the top level of Home and Interior pages, in the sidebar sections of the left and right sidebar layouts, and in both columns of the two column layout.

On computers and tablets, when this block is placed at the top level, the action buttons will be centered on the page but will expand to take as much space as is available for them. If you have more links than there is room for them on one line, the left over links will wrap to a second line (and will still be centered). On phones, the links will display vertically, one link per line and expand to fill most of the screen.
When this block is placed in the sidebar, the links will be displayed vertically, one link per line but will not expand to fill the width of the column.
Links Block
One basic link block is simply called "Links". It sets the list of links on a gray background - as show to the left of this paragraph.
This block is available in the sidebar section of our Left or Right Sidebar blocks, and in both columns of our two column layout.
Links w/ Title
Another similar link block is "Links w/ Title". Like the Links block described above, it sets the list of links on a gray background. But in this block, the links are orange and a title for the list of links is required. You may choose a single column of links - or two side by side columns. Unless your link titles are very short (as shown in the example on the left) or you have placed this block in one of the two adjustable sized columns in Two Column Block, you should stick with a single column.
This block is available in the sidebar section of our Left or Right Sidebar blocks, and in both columns of our two column layout.
List of Links with a Tab Block
One somewhat more specialized list of links is found as one of the options in the content field of a Tab block.

This page documents how to create a styled list of links as their own block. But there are also a number of blocks that display one or more links alongside their main content. For example, you may add links to the Small Carousel block. Other blocks displaying a list of links:
